Firstly, we believe the game is in a strong state, with all core features already in place for you to be able to create games with ease and share them with others around the world to play. at least for now.“We've decided to release Tabletop Playground in early access for a few reasons. Well, it probably won't turn me into a fervent user of this application over TTS. However when a virtual tabletop has no Spirit Island, no Battlestar Galactica, no Unfathomable, no Star Trek Ascendancy, no Village Attacks, no Mansions of Madness SECOND edition, no Darkest Night, no Gloomhaven, no XIA, no Robinson Crusoe, no Mage Knight, no Nemo's War, no Star Wars Rebellion etc. So I am more than happy to see competition in this field and I'm not generally unwilling to switch. The models and textures getting streamed from whatever hoster the mod creator has chosen is certainly the biggest of them and has caused serious issues in the past. I know that TTS has lots of shortcomings. though most likely they already have it installed and can just jump right in. If someone asked me to play one of those four games available here I would do so, but when I suggest to someone else to play a board game together I'll point them towards TTS. TTS on the other hand (didn't do an exact count now) has definitely more than 30 of those games in the form of very well made mods and most of the other ones are at least available, albeit without scripting. and one of those four mods is even labeled as still being a "work in progress", but "playable". I just did a quick count: Out of my personal top 50 favorite board games the mod list for TTP has four of them as available mods. What's more of a problem however is the fact, that most of my favorite games aren't on TTP, but there are very good mods for them on TTS. Honest answer: I own both, but most of my friends don't.
